Chemical principle
HISOL D is Alkali Swellable Associative Thickener. Also, it is referred to Hydrophobically modified Alkali Soluble Emulsion (HASE). The main ingredient of HISOL D is acrylic copolymer emulsion which has low viscosity and is very stable emulsions. HISOL D is dispersed easily in paint and is easy for handling when manufacturing of the water base paints. The modeling of thickening and association principle of HISOL D is from Fig 1 to Fig 4.
As it is showed at Fig 1, the chemical structure of HISOL D consists of acrylic ester polymer chain(Main Backbone) which has lots of carboxyl acid radical and the expanded branch from this, Hydrophobe. This hydrophobe has a hydrophobic chemical property as a hydrocarbon chain.
